Good to hear all this stuff. I've been thinking about getting either a G1 or a Bold, cause I need a tactile keyboard.
So have you played with building anything for android yet? Easy to work with the SDK?
Are you going to try switching to the Android phone as a primary device for a weeklong test run or anything? Would love to grab it from you when you are done and try it for a week. Will contribute to the cost of the phone, too.
